How should I dress my baby under the Love to Dream™ swaddle sack?

Overheating has been linked to SIDS, so it is very important that your baby does not overheat. Our products are designed to eliminate multiple layers of wrapping. The table below provides guidelines on how to dress your baby depending on the room temperature.

When should I stop swaddling my baby and when should I switch?

Regardless of which swaddling method you use, you must stop swaddling as soon as your baby shows signs of rolling over on their own. At this point you will need to transition your baby from swaddling to "arms free" sleeping. Your baby's arms should not be restricted when he or she is able to roll over - this advice applies to any form of swaddling you use. At this point your baby's startle reflex should have subsided. The fit should be snug

A snug fit around the arms and torso helps calm the Moro/Startle Reflex. The neck hole should fit closely and comfortably without being restrictive (you should be able to get 1 to 2 fingers in the neck hole). The neck hole must not be able to pass up and over the baby's mouth. For the best fit, please select the size based on your child's weight, not their height or age.

This means your baby always stays at the optimal temperature for a safe and restful sleep.

Which size should I buy for the Swaddle Up™?

For an optimal fit, please choose the Swaddle Up size based on your child's weight and not their age. The Swaddle Up range is available in four sizes: Newborn (suitable for 2.2-3.8kg), Small (suitable for 3.5-6kg), Medium (suitable for 6-8.5kg) and Large (suitable for 8.5-11kg).

How many Swaddle Up pucks do I need?

We recommend that you purchase at least two Swaddle Up pucks in the appropriate size. If you have two, one can be in the laundry while your baby carries the other. It might even be helpful to have a third one on hand to use in emergencies.
